PROFILE
My love of ART began as a Senior in H.S. Art class. Then I went on and obtained my Associates in Graphic Design and for fun I took a Metalsmithing class. That lead me to a whole new creative outlet that I fell in love with and I recieved my BFA in Metalsmithing from the University of Kansas.
I truly enjoy sharing my learned knowledge in this medium and seeing others tap into their creative abilities. I have taught Fiber Arts at Sterling College, and for the past eight years I have been teaching Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design at the Wichita Center for the Arts. Just this Fall '05, I took on the high school art teacher position for Elyria Christian School, which has been a real blessing, being able to work with young adults and helping them develop their creativity, and love of ART!
I mostly work in silver and then incorporate semi-precious beads or stones, self-made lampwork beads or Dichroic cabs, found animal bone, hair, etc., freshwater pearls, Bali silver, and Swarovski crystal beads. I am currently researching and learning about lapidary work as well as Precious Metal Clay.
I hope you enjoy the current portfolio of my work and find something you would love to have!
